Templates and Deployment Types
Beeks offers different flavours of Beeks Analytics, which are each designed to serve the needs of different organisations. These are:
Beeks Analytics for Markets (BAM)
BAM is a quick-to-configure templated deployment of a Beeks Analytics system, specifically focusing on monitoring communication at the edge of your network and/or specifically the performance of other trading venues that you connect to. Monitor all of your network traffic, with dedicated TCP, UDP, Market Data, and Order Entry dashboards, bandwidth, packet loss and multiple granularities of microburst measurement, wiretime and feed comparison. Track and alert on the difference between the time a trading counterpart claims to have sent you a message, and the PTP-synchronised time that you actually receive it. Look for outliers, and drill into order lifecycle and individual transaction detail to identify and resolve poor performance.
Enterprise deployment
A highly customisable and tailored version of Beeks Analytics, capable of monitoring complex environments with many linked flows and message paths, fanout, cause and effect. Can be integrated directly with 3rd party applications for comprehensive monitoring and analytics. The enterprise deployment does not use a configuration template - it requires hands-on editing of individual configuration files by the customer or by Beeks.
Beeks Analytics as part of Proximity Cloud and Exchange Cloud deployments
Provides analytics for Proximity Cloud and Exchange Cloud environments via the Beeks Portal. The Analytics deployment for Proximity Cloud and Exchange Cloud uses the Beeks Analytics for Markets template. Although only certain features are made available via the Portal, the VMX-Explorer interface is available as part of the Proximity Cloud and Exchange Cloud offerings and this provides access to the full Beeks Analytics for Markets dataset.

The table below summarises the key differences between the Beeks Analytics for Markets template, the Enterprise deployment, and the Beeks Portal analytics template for Proximity Cloud and Exchange Cloud.

Custom queries | No. | Yes. | Yes. |
Visibility Point monitoring | Data is captured at a single Visibility Point. This means there is one place in your Proximity Cloud network where data and therefore timing references can be captured. To calculate latency in a Single Visibility Point system, we use one-way and round-trip latency measurement techniques. | Single or Multiple. Standard Proximity Cloud and Exchange Cloud deployments involve only a single visibility point. | Unlimited monitoring of multiple Visibility Points. Latency measurement between Visibility Points using methods like Point-to-Point or Multihop / Latency budget statistics and including fan out and alternate paths. |
Packet Capture | No. | Full MD and Order capture with user configurable queries via VMX-Explorer and API. | Unlimited. |
Within the single Visibility Point e.g. round-trip and App-to-Wire. | Within individual Visibility Points e.g. round-trip and App-to-Wire. | Can be between Visibility Points e.g. point-to-point or multihop / latency budget statistics.
None. | Tick to Order, transaction lifecycle. | Unlimited, including fanout, tick to order/order to tick, full transaction chaining (i.e. showing multiple related transactions alongside each other).
Common market data and order entry decoders with protocol normalisation. | Common market data and order entry decoders with protocol normalisation. Bespoke decoders can be added by you via Beeks Advanced Configurable Decoder (ACD) or by Beeks team. | Wide library of decoders, including all in Beeks Analytics for Markets, FX decoders, and bespoke special purpose decoders.
Item persistence | Does not provide any views of items within the Portal. | Provides access to item information for Orders and Trades only. | Provides unlimited access to item information for any type of transaction. |
Data broken out by Dedicated Server and/or external market. | Pre-configured set of aggregations by external and internal groups (based on IPs), markets, feeds, gateways, protocols and more. | Unlimited and user-customisable data analytics and display.
No. | Deployment dependent. | Unlimited streaming of raw and decoded messages, correlated items, statistics and more.
Reporting | Standard reports available. | Create and run custom reports in VMX-Explorer as needed. | Create and run custom reports in VMX-Explorer and generate reports on the server. |
