An Alert (in Beeks Analytics terms) is a message generated by VMX-Analysis or VMX-Explorer when a time series (e.g. latency) breaches a particular predefined threshold, or when certain predetermined triggers are received (e.g. market data gaps).

In VMX-Explorer, alerts are denoted using traffic light colours.

For alerts that originate from VMX-Analysis you can also view the anomalies that triggered the alert, and find the current alert state and previous alerts that have occurred during the server runtime. The most common type of alert that originates in VMX-Analysis is the market data gap alert. This occurs when individual anomalies (describing market data gaps, including information such as the missing sequence numbers) are detected by VMX-Capture and sent to VMX-Analysis. VMX-Analysis can combine multiple separate anomalies into a single alert, for ease of reporting.

Beeks Analytics also generates an alert log file.
