The Beeks Analytics product suite is designed to be highly flexible to meet our client’s diverse hosting and analytics requirements.

All Beeks Analytics solutions are available as a service, on Beeks-provided hardware, or as an enterprise solution hosted at the client site (commodity hardware). Our licensed software-only option allows businesses to extract deep analytics from their network without external hosting charges and allows our clients to start small and then scale as they start seeing value. Whatever product and deployment option is best for you, the Beeks team works closely with your internal development teams to help you realise maximum value for your business and clients.

Beeks Analytics

Beeks Analytics is a powerful analytics tool that performs packet-level monitoring and recording of network traffic to yield critical performance indicators of your trading applications and infrastructure. Beeks Analytics supports a single pane of glass approach to network information and network-derived business metrics via VMX-Explorer, a highly configurable, Grafana-based browser view.

Beeks Analytics is available as a templated solution for rapid deployment or as a custom solution that delivers unique monitoring workflows.

  • Beeks Analytics for Markets (BAM) is our templated, ready-to-deploy Beeks Analytics solution.

  • Beeks Analytics Enterprise (BAE) is a custom Beeks Analytics solution that supports a tailored configuration to support unique analytics requirements.

mdPlay 

mdPlay is a standalone replay-only version of the Beek Analytics VMX-Capture component. Use mdPlay to exactly recreate past issues or simulate volume scenarios faithfully. mdPlay replays historical market data and delivers it into testbeds, enabling you to replay data with full synchronisation of streams and with +/- 20 nanosecond precision.

Scale data replay up (or down) to anticipate future loads or test algorithms to breaking point, or replay market data at multiple times speed to test network density and capacity.

mdPlay allows you to take a packet capture from peak load and replay it to entirely test at load the network infrastructure and related infrastructure components, and not just application software.

For example, MIFID II Article 10 requires investment firms to stress test their systems at a minimum of twice the historic peak load of the previous six month period. mdPlay allows you to take a packet capture from the last peak and replay it. By replaying as a packet capture, the network infrastructure and related infrastructure components can be fully tested at load, not just application software.

Another MIFID requirement that’s served by mdPlay is Article 11, which stipulates that Trading venues must be able to support at least twice their historical peak of messages expressed as the highest number of messages per second recorded on that system during the previous five years.

mdPlay is data source-agnostic and will replay market data from any packet capture source. Typically, our clients leverage Beeks Analytics to feed mdPlay from its VMX-Capture component, and manage the library of historic packet captures in VMX-Explorer.

mdPlay is integrated with your test tools, but if required, it can be used with an administration tool in which you’ll specify the data that will be replayed and view the results in a Grafana view.

Market Data Packet Capture Services

Beeks Market Data Packet Capture Services enables exchanges to offer a service where their clients can access nanosecond-accurate packet captures of the exchange’s historical market data. These packet captures provide unparalleled precision and historical insights.

Built around the core VMX-Capture component of the Beeks Analytics architecture, Beeks Market Data Packet Capture Services uses a series of Beeks solutions including mdArchiver, mdSeed, mdVault, and mdPortal.  

Beeks Market Data Packet Capture Services also use the mdPlay software (see above) to provide an mdPlay and (for exchanges who take the Beeks Exchange Cloud service) mdStream packet capture replay services, as optional extras to the service.
