This document lays out two principal ways to deploy Beeks Analytics: either as Analytics as a Service or as an on-premise Appliance. It explains how to decide which approach fits best. It also provides technical details for each option, including how to mirror packets for analysis and how to manage hosting requirements.

Beeks Analytics as a Service

What it is: A fully managed analytics platform hosted by Beeks in Equinix LD4/NY4 datacenters.

Why choose it?

  • No hardware to procure or maintain.

  • Fastest route to live deployment with minimal setup.

  • Ongoing software updates and support included.

  • Ideal for organizations that want enterprise-grade performance insights without hosting overhead.

Beeks Analytics as an Appliance

What it is: One or more dedicated on-premise or co-located Dell PowerEdge server(s) (or equivalent) running Beeks Analytics software and optional FPGA capture/compression cards for high-performance packet capture.

Why choose it?

  • Full control over hardware and data storage location.

  • Ideal for high-throughput deployments or environments with strict data governance/security rules.

  • Greater flexibility to scale hardware and integrate with existing infrastructure.

Which deployment is best for me?

Choose Analytics as a Service if:

  • You prefer a faster, lower-effort deployment with no hardware to manage.

  • You want to leverage Beeks’s ISO/IEC 27001–certified security framework and have cross-connect access in the LD4 or NY4 campuses.

  • You need real-time visibility but do not want to procure or install your own servers.

Choose Analytics as an Appliance if:

  • You must keep data and hardware on-site for compliance or security reasons.

  • You have a very large amount of traffic that needs to be monitored.

  • You are outside the Equinix LD4 and NY4 campuses and so cannot feed your data to Analytics as a Service via a cross-connect.

  • You want total control over all aspects of packet capture, storage, and time synchronisation.

In Summary

  • Analytics as a Service offers turnkey simplicity and offloaded maintenance at the Equinix LD4 and NY4 campuses.

  • Analytics as an Appliance provides full control and high-touch hardware customisation.
